Fun Facts
- Kevin is the brother of Nora Dunn.
- Kevin starred in an unsold pilot called "The First Gentleman." (A pilot is an episode of a tv series designed to sell the series to network execs. An unsold pilot is the pilot for a series that was never sold.) Kevin had the title role as the husband of a woman president. He had been the chief of police back in their hometown, and now he kept busy in Washington solving crimes. The rooms that were supposed to be part of the White House looked vaguely like suites in a mid-level hotel. The show was filmed in 1994 and pitched to CBS, which decided to pass. (this info comes directly from Robert P. Laurence's article, the IMDB says it was made in 1999)
I saw a clip of it in February 2002 with my friends Mark & Jaclyn at the Holiday Inn in Rockville Centre, NY. We were there to take part in a survey being given by Prevue Studio (Jaclyn got the call, and asked if I'd like to come along). It turns out that Prevue Studio has given this same "survey" quite a number of times, and there's a fraud behind it. Robert P. Laurence, a San Diego-based television critic, wrote an article about it on March 11, 2003. The experience he described was EXACTLY like the one my friends and I had, complete with the same television pilots and stand-up comics (except our commercials were different: instead of hair conditioner and yogurt, it was Gold Bond powder, Thompson's wood seal, a mobile phone commercial ["try the duck"], and some other stuff).
