LASERDISC EXCLUSIVES

Materials NOT found on the DVD or in the "Making Ghostbusters" book.

Deleted Footage: The Stairway
As Ray, Egon, and Peter walk down the stairs and enter the Paranormal Studies Laboratory, they discuss who should win the Nobel Prize.

Two Split-Screen Before & After Special Effects Comparisons:

  1. Library Ghost -- The scene where Ray says "Get Her" and the ghost in the library turns gruesome.
  2. Ballroom -- The scene where the Ghostbusters trap Slimer in the ballroom of the Sedgewick Hotel.

The Theatrical Teaser
A promotional teaser shown in theaters before the film itself was complete and before the final music had been recorded. It contains footage not used in the finished film (such as the original theme song).

The Original Theatrical Trailer
Even though this IS on the DVD, the one on the DVD is NOT in Letterbox and is missing the "Coming Soon to a Theatre Near You" screen at the end.

Ruth Oliver's Library Ghost Scream Test
The actress who portrayed the library ghost practicing how she will be screaming the word "Quiet" for when she transforms into the hideous ghost.

Hundreds Of Still Photos/Drawings/Storyboards:
It should be noted that all of the laserdisc's still frames (photos, drawings, etc.) are full-screen and of higher resolution than the DVD's still frames (which are shown on a very small portion of the screen).

  • Several "Special Effects" Photos/Drawings -- such as the effects crew group shot, the Real Ghostbusters "Slimer" pics (such as this one), one or two of the building of the Shandor Building pics, probably more.
  • Several "Stay Puft Marshmallow Man" Photos/Drawings -- such as a few of the Stay Puft drawings, and a few of the production photos, maybe more.
  • Several storyboard sequences -- such as a storyboard shot of the library ghost, a couple shots after the "Dogs Drag Dana" sequence (objects in her kitchen fly across the room and stick to her icebox)
  • A few frames of textual trivia -- some facts not really found elsewhere)
