In his first appearance, Peter's con man father sells ponchos that supposedly repel ghosts. Unfortunately, they don't work on the crew members of a ship sucked into the New Jersey Parallelogram.
Fun Facts
- There are two versions of this episode which each feature different background music when the Ghostbusters save Peter's dad. One version features standard series music, whereas "Hometown Hero" (performed by Tahiti -- from the soundtrack album) is played in the other version. Videos of both versions can be found in the "Videos" section below. The Series Music Version is commonly played on television; the Tahiti Music Version can be found on the "Venkman's Ghost Repellers" Magic Window home videocassette released in the 1980s, the "Adventures In Slime & Space" DVD released in the United Kingdom in 2004, and the "Manhattan Madness" DVD released by OS Films in 2005 (it's a professional bootleg of the two UK DVDs).
- This is set before "The Spirit of Aunt Lois", which is clearly set before "Cold Cash and Hot Water".
- Series regular Lorenzo Music is the voice of Peter's dad.
