More Comic Information

Last week I premiered the Graham Cracker Comics exclusive cover for Ghostbusters: The Other Side #1. I didn't know at the time if this was going to be GCC's only exclusive cover for the series, or if they planned to do more. Well, I can now provide a little clarification on that matter. They will only be doing an exclusive cover for #1, not the rest of the series. So those of you who were here a few years ago when variant-cover-mania was running wild on the 88MPH "Legion" series, can relax knowing that that won't (or shouldn't) be the case with the IDW Publishing's "The Other Side" series.

Speaking of variant covers... Although Graham Cracker Comics will be the only retailer to have an exclusive variant cover, that won't be the only one. As is apparently their standard practice, IDW will put out (or probably put out) a couple of variants. They usually do a "1 in 10" and a "1 in 25" variant. Meaning if ANY retailer orders 10 copies they get 1 copy of the "1 in 10" variant, and the same with the 25. I'd imagine that these types of variants will be of limited supply, due to their 1 in X nature. However, for those concerned with price gouging, I have learned that GCC usually prices these types of variants at $1 for each X issue, so the "1 in 10" variant would be $10 and the "1 in 25" variant would be $25.

Although that's a few more variants that I'd personally care for there to be, I'm highly hopeful that there won't end up being as many as in the 88MPH series. For those who don't know, the 88MPH "Legion" was a 4-issue story, but had 9 variant covers! Yes, there were DOUBLE the amount of variants as there were issues in the story!

Anyway, let me also throw out a reminder about the comic release party event being held at the Wheaton, IL store on October 15th (that's a little less than a month away). And you can pre-order the comic using the snazzy new GCC logo banner on the left side menu of this blog.

Oh yeah, one more thing... for those of you who'd like to get to know new Ghostbusters' comic book publisher IDW Publishing a little better, a tour of their offices was published a few months ago. And, of course, you can check out their official site (though the Ghostbusters comic still hasn't been added to their list of titles in the pull-down list.
