Cereal:Geek #4 Preview Feat. RGB Promo Pilot

James Eatock has just sent along a couple of preview images from the upcoming Cereal:Geek issue #4, which heavily features The Real Ghostbusters (they're even on the cover). One of the highlights of the issue for Real Ghostbusters fans will be your first look at new screens from the original promo pilot, with a full description of the happenings in the pilot, AND the history of how it came to be! You can see the first page of that article above (the Page 44 sample), and see 30 thumbnails of the screens in the RGB sample pages above. Some shots will look familiar to long-time Spook Central visitors and Ghostbusters fans, as the cut-down promos I have on this site use footage from that full four-minute promo.

Also, Proton Charging has brought to light some of the art for Cereal:Geek's upcoming Tobin's Spirit Guide, which will essentially be a who's who of ghosts and monsters in The Real Ghostbusters, each accompanied by a fantastic bit of illustration by Tristan Jones. You can view some of the artwork at Tristan's Deviant Art site. Tristan posted a comment over at Proton Charging which states that "the first batch [of ghosts] will be appearing in Cereal:Geek Magazine #4. Hopefully, so long as the magazine sells well, we can do more and more (I'd personally like to do every ghost/spirit/demon that is logically possible, including the movies, comics and EGB)." So, apparently Tobin's Spirit Guide will be on ongoing feature in the magazine, as opposed to a stand-alone issue.

I'd like to publically thank Mr. Eatock for not only allowing me to be the first site to premiere these preview images, but also for giving me the shout out in the article itself (you can read some of it in the Page 44 sample).

Issue #4 will be out in the next few weeks (just in time for Halloween, I'd imagine), and you'll be able to order it on the Cereal:Geek website at that time. Of course, the full promo will make its home video debut this November on The Real Ghostbusters: Complete Collection DVD box set.

I've learned from James that the Tobin's Spirit Guide feature will NOT be in issue #4. It was originally planned to be in the issue, but due to page constraints, etc., it had to be postponed. He's hoping to get it into issue #5, but doesn't know if that will end up happening. However, he assures me that it WILL appear at some point, just not yet...
