RGB DVD Set Packaging Pics And Breakdown
Well, in just 14 short days The Real Ghostbusters: Complete Collection set finally comes out. If you have not yet pre-ordered it, do so now! If you're still not yet convinced that you NEED to buy this set, maybe the new packaging images and the complete set breakdown will help to change your mind. I am posting the breakdown without permission, and really hope that I don't get in trouble for doing so. Please do me a favor and DON'T repost the breakdown anywhere. Thanks. (Andy and Jeff, I will gladly take it down if you want me to, but since it will all become public knowledge in 14 days, I don't see the harm in giving out that information. If anything, it'll help to hype up the set and elicit more sales.)

Speechless. Absolutely speechless. Clearly, It's been known that most of this wonderful material would be included in the set, but to see it spelled out as it will appear elates me even more. For years I've engaged my love of this show by making my own screen captures, writing up episode synopses, and converting what poor quality copies of the show I have into a DVD collection. Heck, I even had a collection of amateur artwork of my favorite ghouls from the series. Anything I've every done for personal satisfaction revolving this show is finally being brought to me professionally and with great care. I am one of the fans who has cursed the release of relatively forgettable shows on DVD while years passed without any word of the Real Ghostbusters making its debut. The wait WAS worth it. Thank you, Paul, for bringing this information to the fans of your site and the franchise.

Absolutely beautiful! I can't wait. Thanks for the post. Though
I've already ordered mine, I fully agree with you. After seeing the breakdown, if I had been on the fense - that would have sold me for sure.

Waiting for this collection, I truly feel like a kid [again] waiting for Christmas morning! I've been pulling my hair out ever since it was hinted that this package was going to be released. Then to find out how jammed packed with bonus/behind-the-scenes material it was going to be loaded with, I felt like I had died & gone to heaven! Now, after MONTHS of agonizing anticipation, to FINALLY see it materialize into one of the most detailed animated collections EVER MADE (and such a BEAUTIFUL one at that!) is just a wonderful site to behold. 2008 is just a great year to be alive! :)
Much love to Andy Mangels, Time Life, Paul, and everyone else that made this collection possible for the die-hard fans! This begs the question, now that it seems that our prayers have been answered with the release of this collection...where do we go from here? lol.

This begs the question, now that it seems that our prayers have been answered with the release of this collection...where do we go from here? lol. I'd say "Extreme Ghostbusters: The Complete Series" in 2009! The only problem is that it isn't as beloved and (fondly) remembered as RGB, so I don't know what company would feel it would bring in enough money to be worth the investment to license and release it. We all know Sony won't do it. Maybe the huge amount of money brought in by the RGB set will convince TimeLife to license and release EGB, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting. Anyway, once the set comes out, I urge everyone to send an e-mail to Andy Mangels to thank him for all of his hard work.

Well, we could always hope for an SE release of GB2. :P
Anyways, I will definitely have to send Mangels an e-mail once I get the set. This is phenomenal work, especially for a retro cartoon release.

Brad, I think we may actually have a greater chance for a SE release of GB2 than for ANY release of EGB on DVD...and that's a slim chance seeing as how TWICE Sony had no interest in giving the SE treatment to GB2! And it looks like next years GB2 re-release won't be SE either, which makes it a THIRD time they could have done it but didn't.
