Gloom In The Room

TO ALL, UNEXPLAINABLE PHENOMENON
I checked the June 6-12 issue of TV Guide and I found the Fox Family Channel listing that Ryan LeClair was talking about the other day (see scan above). It's in a special advertising section called "Cable's Focus on Family." Why the cable industry (who put the ad section together) would refer to it as Fox Family Channel is unknown to me. If you read page 22 of TV Guide, TV Guide clearly states that "Fox Family Channel ... launches August 15." I can only guess that they're slowly changing it over so that everything reads Fox Family Channel come August 15.

TO ALL, TOM HANKS PARTYIED AT THE SEDGEWICK HOTEL
The Biltmore Hotel, which was the Sedgewick Hotel in "Ghostbusters," was the hotel in the Tom Hanks film "Bachelor Party" (1984). The hotel obviously has two entrances (the one used in "Bachelor Party" and the one used in "Ghostbusters"). The "Ghostbusters" entrance can be seen in "Bachelor Party" when the party is raided and everyone runs out the hotel's side entrance (notice the canopy and red carpet -- it only shows up in one shot).

TO ALL, GB2 ON COMEDY CENTRAL
According to TV Guide Online, Ghostbusters II airs on Comedy Central on Thursday June 18. As many of you know, Comedy Central repeats their movies quite often. So, expect it to show up several times after that.

TO ALL, GB1 ON DVD
Remember that site that said it was selling GB1 on DVD? Well, they got back to me.

HERE'S WHAT I SAID TO THEM:

Greetings

In your "G" section (http://excaliburfilms.com/dvd/dvdgr-g.htm) of your All-Star DVD site, you have "Ghostbusters" listed (you're selling it for $19.98). This title has not been released to DVD yet, according to several sources. What gives?

Paul,

Thank you for pointing this out. I will reverify the availability with our supplier and update the site as soon as possible.

TO SLIMER1509, RE: GB & X-FILES
Those were some interesting GB X-Files references.

TO GOZER THE BLUES TRAVELER

RE: SOME GB STUFF IN THE MASK
I forgot about Ben Stein's cameo in GB2. Good job making the connection.

RE: GB2 SCORE IN TWINS
I'll have to check this out the next time I watch Twins (whenever that will be). I just checked the IMDB, Randy Edelman did the Twins score, as well as GB2 & The Mask.

TO ECTOFIEND, RE: SEVEN DAYS & SEVEN NIGHTS
I didn't see it, but to me it just doesn't look like a film Ivan Reitman would direct (even though I know he did).

TO DAVID
> The extreme Ghostbusters is set ten years after the original
> Ghostbusters trapped all the ghosts in the sewer or somthing so
> shouldn't they stop making movies of the OGB and start with EGB?

The supposed premise of GB3 is the old team training the new team. I think Sony is hoping for GB3 to be the equivalent to Paramount's Star Trek Generations.
