| "Oooh, spook central." -- Eduardo Rivera, "Extreme Ghostbusters: Darkness At Noon - Part 2" |
I have started a mailing list that will let you know when this site is updated and will occassionally give you information before it hits this site -- if it hits this site, at all. To subscribe to the list, which is being run by ListBot, enter your E-Mail address in the box below and click "Join List."
To unsubscribe, change your E-Mail address, view an archive of past messages, and other stuff, go here.
Spook Central's first message board, the now defunct "Ghostbusters/Spook Central Message Board" was created sometime between November 19 - 23, 1997.
This private message board has been designed to allow all us Ghostbusters fans to talk about the films, television series, the actors in the movies and television series, and the themes discussed in the Ghostbusters phenomenon, in a serious, adult manner.
To join, simply fill out the request form that pops up when you try to view the board. You MUST have a vaild E-Mail address to join the forum -- the E-Mail address you mail your request from MUST be the same one you use to sign up with Delphi. I will process your request as soon as I get it. You will receive a "Come Join" letter in E-Mail. If I decide not to accept you, you will NOT be notified.
You can be locked out of the forum at my discression, so please be on your best behavior. Don't give me a reason to lock you out. Please familiarize youself with the rules and the FAQ.
*Please Note*: You must have "accept cookies" enabled in your browser for the log-in procedure to work! If you have any problems, I can help with some of them, but if it's beyond my control, please contact Delphi. If you want to put html codes in your message, you might want to look at a basic list of codes I prepared.
You can attach files directly to messages you post in The Firehouse Forum. This feature is an especially convenient way to exchange pictures, word processing documents, sound files, and hundreds of other files you want to share with other participants. Just click the "Attach File" button when you compose a message. All Delphi members receive the first 500 Kb of attachment space for free. You can buy more attachment space from Delphi (by clicking on the appropriate link when you go to attach a file). I am NOT involved in that transaction. That is SOLELY between you and Delphi.
** I asked Delphi about how to delete attachments. I got this reply from them (on 7-11-1998): "At present the only way to delete attachments is to delete its corresponding message. [The Forum Host] can delete any post in the Forum, ... as can the poster or postee of the message." I tried that with a test message. The attached file is still at the same URL, but it no longer counts in my space allotment.
Technical note: the ability to upload files is built into Netscape Navigator 3.x and 4.x, and Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x. If you're using a different browser you will probably need to download a "plug in" or upgrade to enable this feature.
Finally, it should be noted that when you're registering for my message board, you're registering with Delphi. I *DO NOT* know all the information you submit to them. At most, all I know is your first & last name, your member name, your E-Mail address, and your nickname. Whatever password you give them is between you and them. They WILL put you on their mailing list, but you can easily remove yourself by following the instructions at the bottom of the message they send you.
